The night is like any normal night for Joey and Aiden. It’s eight at night and AJ has been put to sleep. Joey and Aiden are cuddled up on the couch together, eating popcorn. A few minutes pass when Joey's intercom can be heard and it's the familiar voice of the doorman.
Doorman: "Miss Reyes?"
Joey sighs before getting up off the couch with a groan.
Joey Reyes: "Did you order a pizza or something?"
She glances back at Aiden before pushing the intercom button.
Joey Reyes: "Yeah, I'm here."
Aiden simply shakes his head as his brow furrows, wondering what the doorman wants.
Doorman: "Sorry to bother you ma'am, but I have a Miss Veronica Morrow here who's adamant about needing to speak with Mr. Morrow. Should I bring her up?"
Joey blinks and does not hide her surprise.
Joey Reyes: "I'm sorry, Veronica WHO?! MORROW?!" She spins and looks at Aiden. "Is this a joke?!"
Aiden pops up from the couch with a bewildered look on his face. He looks Joey in the eyes and responds.
Aiden Morrow: "I-I don't know. She might've been released early on parole..."
His jaw. drops in disbelief.
Joey Reyes: "I thought she was your girlfriend... YOU'RE FUCKING MARRIED?!"
She's livid, her hands flapping in the air and her tone hinting at her Hispanic accent. Aiden walks up to Joey and places his hands on her shoulders gently, trying to calm her down.
Aiden Morrow: "Joey, I never clarified what Veronica and were and you never asked. Please, calm down and let's figure this out."
She throws his hands off.
Joey Reyes: "OH MY GOD! YOU'RE MARRIED?! YOU'RE FUCKING MARRIED!!"
She begins to pace.
Joey Reyes: "Then I guess you'd better go downstairs and see your WIFE then!!"
He steps in front of her and places his hands on her shoulders again, trying to hold her in place.
Aiden Morrow: "Quit yelling before you wake up AJ. And she's just my wife on paper, okay? You're the woman I'm with and only you. Please, don't be upset."
Joey Reyes: "DON'T BE UPSET?!! ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO YOURSELF RIGHT NOW?! DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'RE ASKING ME TO DIGEST?! JUST GO ALREADY!!"
He takes a deep breath and sighs as he keeps his concerned eyes on hers.
Aiden Morrow: "I don't want to leave you up here like this until we figure this out. I don't give a shit about Veronica anymore, you know that, right? I love you, Joey."
She stares at him, her dark eyes dancing with rage.
Joey Reyes: "Just go."
He rubs his hands through his hair before shaking his head. Without saying a word, he turns away and walks to the door and leaves to go talk to Veronica. He’s gone for about thirty minutes and Aiden comes back up he finds Joey staring blankly at the TV, wringing her hands nervously.. Aiden walks up to the couch and sits down next to Joey and doesn't say anything. He takes his hand and grabs Joey's, trying to see how she would react while also trying to calm her down. She lets him take her hand but she continues to stare at the TV.
Joey Reyes: "What'd she say?"
He sighs as he squeezes her hand.
Aiden Morrow: "She wanted to see AJ and... Yeah."
He cuts off there, not wanting to say anything else. Joey then looks over.
Joey Reyes: "Wanted to get back together with you?"
He looks away and down at the ground.
Aiden Morrow: "Kind of... It's a little more complicated than that."
He keeps looking down and he shakes his head.
Aiden Morrow: "I'm sorry I didn't tell you everything."
He feels her grip tighten on his.
Joey Reyes: "Then tell me now."
He sighs and looks up, looking her in the eyes and she can tell how worried he is.
Aiden Morrow: "When I started talking to you is when I stopped talking to Veronica." He pauses and sighs before continuing. "I tried to make it work despite what happened.. Despite what she did but I couldn't. I didn't love her anymore and then you walked into my life... So I just cut her off and stopped visiting, stopped accepting her calls and responding to her letters and I focused on you..."
Her eyes widen.
Joey Reyes: "Oh boy... So she must want me dead or something."
He grimaces.
Aiden Morrow: "Yeah... She was pretty upset."
He squeezes her hand and uses his other hand to place on her cheek.
Aiden Morrow: "What about you?"
She shrugs and exhales, taking a moment to calm herself before speaking in an even tone.
Joey Reyes: "I can't really fault you for what you did before you met me, and it sounds like since we started dating you've done nothing but focus on me so... I think it's going to awkward as fuck but no, I'm not upset."
He's now grabbing both of her hands and leaning in towards her, his eyes locked in on hers as if they're the only thing that matters.
Aiden Morrow: "I want you to know that this? Us? There's no doubts for me. I'm crazy about you and I fucking love you." He pauses and moves his hands up to her shoulders. "You turned me into the best version of me. I let Veronica drag me down the last six years but you? You've given me a second lease on life and helped me get to where I am now."
She nods and smiles, her eyes staring directly into his before the close for a moment and she leans in to kiss him.
Joey Reyes: "I love you too. You and AJ make me feel alive again."
A cocky grin runs over his face.
Aiden Morrow: "So you're saying that I give you life?"
She nods and smiles, looking all innocent and girlish.
Joey Reyes: "I am."
A huge smile runs across his face as he leans in and steals a kiss before leaning back a few inches, his nose touching hers.
Aiden Morrow: "I'm not asking you to marry me, I know that'd probably be too crazy for the both of us this early... But I already know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
She lets her forehead rest against his as she stares with a playful glare.
Joey Reyes: "Besides, sounds like you need to get a divorce first."
He laughs and then kisses her again.
Aiden Morrow: "Then I'll make sure to make it happen as soon as possible because all I see in my future is you and AJ."
She pokes him in the belly.
Joey Reyes: "That had better be all you need. Otherwise I'll kick your ass."
Aiden Morrow: "Well, maybe I lied."
He playfully grins.
Aiden Morrow: "I kind of like doing this wrestling thing too. So I need that!"
She looks dead serious but he knows she's playing as she places a hand on his shoulder and in a solemn voice says.
Joey Reyes: "I think maybe it's time you find something you're good at though."
Aiden Morrow: "I already did."
He pauses and a giant smile runs over his face.
Aiden Morrow: "And that's being your boyfriend."
Joey Reyes: "Sorry, I don't date married men."
He tackles her down onto the couch so that he's hovering over her on the couch.
Aiden Morrow: "That's fine. I guess I'm really good at making you breakfast and dinner, spending time with you, making you laugh and making love to you."
Joey Reyes: "You're also REALLY good at making me smile... like I am right now."
He laughs.
Aiden Morrow: "Thank god because I was scared that this night was going to go in the opposite direction and I'd be sleeping on the couch."
The two laugh and then kiss again before continuing on their playful conversation for the rest of the night.

The scene opens up with Aiden Morrow standing in the middle of an empty driveway of a two story house that’s in the middle of a Santa Monica suburb. Aiden looks down at the concrete beneath his feet before rubbing his hands over his face and through his hair. His head moves up and his eyes are focused on the camera in front of him. A look of reflection and regret is upon Aiden’s face as he stands there in what the audience can only deduct as some random driveway.
Aiden Morrow: ”This is where it happened, where my life completely changed. Veronica, my ex, my fallen angel…”
Aiden sighs and shakes his head in disappointment.
Aiden Morrow: ”We were married and she gave birth to the greatest gift that’s ever been give to us; AJ. We lived in this two story house, I worked my ass off doing construction work every day and we were happy. We were FINALLY happy. We both had a bumpy road together in high school… Partying, doing drugs and whatever else your typical teenage idiot does. I threw away a lot of my future for that stuff but I threw the majority of it away when Veronica got pregnant at the end of our senior year. I wouldn’t change a thing obviously but it made things hard.”
“Having AJ helped me I grow out of the phase once we graduated and I thought being pregnant helped Veronica grow out of it too. But after she had AJ, she fell again. Again. And again. And again until it destroyed our lives. One night I was out late at Flex Johnson’s dojo to train and hone my skill as a wrestle. I had been working out there for six months by then and I could feel it, I was almost ready to make my wrestling debut. But when I pulled up right here, in this very driveway under my feet…”
He pauses as he looks to his right, which is where Veronica used to park her car while the two of them lived there.
Aiden Morrow: ”I found AJ passed out in Veronica’s car from being left locked inside of it with the windows up. She was high and she left him behind for hours and I had no idea. AJ was rushed to the hospital and I was arrested in confusion. AJ would recover and I would be set free but Veronica was taken away for leaving AJ in the car while under the influence. She went to prison and my world was shaken. My son almost died, my wife was behind bars and I had to move back in with my parents.”
“I blamed myself for all of this at the beginning and I wallowed in self-pity while giving up on my hopes and dreams of becoming a professional wrestler. It’s always been one of my fatal flaws. I’ve blamed myself for other people’s mistakes too many times. But eventually I snapped out of it and went back to training with the blessing of my parents, who had been helping me raise AJ ever since I became a single father and since then? I haven’t looked back. I finished my training with Flex Johnson at his dojo before signing a contract with Legacy.”
“While my workout tapes were impressive enough to get me an offer on a main show that wasn’t developmental, I didn’t want that. I wanted to not only improve here in Legacy but I wanted to make it the brand to watch. I wanted myself and the Legacy brand to grow together, hand in hand. This place hasn’t received the attention that it deserves. There have been classic matches here and the battle between PerZag and I was one of the best matches in all of the Honor Wrestling brands in my opinion.”
“Ever since my debut a few months ago, I’ve accumulated three wins and one tie, which is the match with PerZag. We gave each other everything we had in the ring and we came out with a draw. The sad new for PerZag this go around though? There are no draws in a triple threat match.”
He casually shrugs before continuing on.
Aiden Morrow: ”Speaking of it being a Triple Threat, what has Alexander Raven done exactly anyway? He won his debut match here in Legacy to get his placement in this match like what? Over two months ago? That was before he bailed on Legacy for ‘greater pastures’ over in Honor Wrestling. Alexander was given an opportunity to be the number one contender for the Cruiserweight Championship in Honor but what happened? He lost to Jett Wilder. What happened in Alexander’s last match in Legacy when he lost to that stuttering joke, Teo Jakobah?”
“He lost to him too. You know who made Teo tap out? I did. I made him scream and tap. Two weeks ago, I took out Dylan and my case to become the first ever Legacy Champion grows stronger than ever. Raven was talking to Kaiden Kessler on Twitter the other day, talking about how he’s going to ‘leave’ his mark on Legacy. That’s the whole thing with you, Raven, you’ve already left and the mark that you put on Legacy? It wasn’t a good one… It wasn’t a good one at all and at Next Wave, there’s nothing you can do to change that. Why? Because you’re not going to get past me.”
“Why? Because I want this more than you do. I want Legacy to turn into something special, I want it to mean as much as the Honor brand and you know what? Slowly but surely, we’re getting there. But it’s been no thanks to the likes of you, Raven. You don’t care about this brand, in fact, you probably don’t even care about Honor. It has been and always will be about you. Maybe I’ll put you in a Labell Lock like I did to Teo, you know, one of those guys who beat you.”
Aiden winks at the camera before a smirk rolls across his face.
Aiden Morrow: ”Next up, we have my rival, PerZag. You came out at the end of the last Legacy show to talk to me, face to face. You told me that my first ever loss is going to come at the hands of you. You said this after you lost to Eric Weaver, a guy who’s had an up and down career in Legacy so far; this was also right after I handedly beat Dylan O’Brien. I’ve been up against so many odds in my life and in the ring so far but I’ve overcome all of them. Dylan tried to bring a chair into play and as he was about to hit me in the back with it, I made him pay for it with a Pele Kick that sent that chair straight into his skull.”
“You want to know why that happened? Because I’m always aware and I’m always ready. While I’m not trying to say that I’m perfect, I have been a lot more consistent than PerZag and Alexander Raven have so far. Will that continue at New Wave? I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure it does. PerZag is a great competitor and he brought me to the brink over a month ago but this time, there HAS to be a winner. At the end of the night, it’s going to be my hand that’s raised in the air. This is my time and no one else’s.”
Aiden pauses and nods confidently.
Aiden Morrow: “Legacy. There’s so many meanings in that one word. When you look up synonyms for it, you get words like birthright, inheritance, gift, etc. Being the face of Legacy Wrestling by becoming its first ever Legacy Champion isn’t going to happen through inheritance… It isn’t something that is going to be gifted to you either and it damn sure isn’t a birthright. No, this is something that is EARNED through hard work and determination. This is something that you earn by obsessing over it, by working yourself to the bone day in and day out.”
“While some people’s days end at 5 P.M. and they get to go home and relax, mine definitely don’t end by then. I’m always working on my craft. You can find me either watching tape on my opponents or working in out in the gym or in the ring. I spend time with my family and I train. That is what my days consist of and you know what? I’m lucky I have a girlfriend that’s a legend in this business in Joey Reyes. She’s taught me so much inside of the ring and out of it and I wouldn’t be here without her and her support. I can do what I do now because I have her… And because i have AJ.”
“They’re what inspire, they are what give me the strength and support that I need to succeed. This wrestling thing isn’t possible to do alone. You need support to hold you up and I have mine. My support will love me no matter the outcome of this match. AJ will call my daddy and I’ll still be his hero no matter what happens. But you know what? I won’t let that make me content. I’m not here to give just the ‘old college try’. Hell no. I’m here to give it my all… I’m here to become the Legacy Champion. Most of all? I’m here to make sure that Legacy lives up to it’s name. Because everything is earned and nothing is given. Tomorrow night, I will EARN the Legacy Championship. And the best part of all? I’ll be doing it on my birthday.”
A smile runs over Aiden’s face as he nods at the camera and walks away before the scene fades out.
