I had just finished telling my lawyer William Durant everything that had happened and he walked out of the interrogation room, leaving me to myself, still shackled to this table with handcuffs. I told William how I called Veronica after my training session with Flex and that she didn’t answer. How when I pulled up into the driveway of my home and looked into Veronica’s car, I saw a passed out AJ in his carseat. And most importantly, I told William how I admitted that I did it to the police. Why did I do that?
Because I felt like it was all my doing. I should’ve seen the signs with Veronica and most of all, I should have been there for her instead of chasing this foolish dream of mine. What was I thinking? She’s always needed me to keep her level-headed… But I-I’ve always needed her too. We have gotten through everything together the last five years and we’ll get through this too… AJ will be okay and our family will be fine. I’ll quit training and focus on them, on what really matters.
As a million thoughts flood my throughout my brain, the door to the interrogation room opens up and it’s the young, black officer who walks in. He walks up to the table and places a hand on it as he stares into my eyes with a serious look on his face. He shakes his head before pulling a handcuffs key and unlocking the cuffs, which he then takes off of my wrists.
Black Officer: ”I really hope that story of yours that you gave to your lawyer was true.”
Standing up from the table, I rub my right wrist with my left hand as I keep my eyes on the officer.
Aiden Morrow: ”Listen, Officer…?”
Black Officer: ”It’s Officer Bryant.”[/COLOR}
I nod my head as he tells me his name.
Aiden Morrow: ”Officer Bryant, I feel like what happened was my fault because I wasn’t there to stop it but I didn’t leave AJ in the car. Now am I free to go so that I can go see if my son is okay!?”
The pace of my heartbeat begins to pick up as I think about poor little AJ in the hospital, probably scared and not knowing what’s going on. That’s if he’s even awake, which I have no idea about. I need to get out of here, I have to find out.
Officer Bryant: ”Your bail has been posted and you’re free to go, your lawyer is waiting for you outside.”
I hurriedly walk past Officer Bryant and walk out of the interrogation room. I quickly make my way outside and I see William Durant parked outfront in the parking lot in a white Lexus. I hurriedly walk towards it before opening the door to the passenger seat and I get in. Durant hands me a ziplock bag with my keys, wallet and cell phone inside of it.
William Durant: ”Here you go, kid, you’re lucky I grabbed your belongings for you, I figured you’d be in too much of a rush to even think about them.
I snatch the bag out of his hand and pull out my iPhone and the screen is black. Great, the phone is dead.
Aiden Morrow: ”Let’s cut the small talk and get to the hospital, please? I need to see my son!”
William nods his head as he turns over the engine and puts the car in reverse.
William Durant: ”I just talked to your father, AJ is fine and responsive, so try to relax and breathe.”
The car starts to move forward as I bury my face into my hands. I can’t believe AJ is okay… I just want to hold him and Veronica in my arms and have my family whole again. I just want to go back to the way things once were.

About forty minutes pass until William Durant and I make it inside of the hospital that AJ is being taken care of after my wife, Veronica, left him in the backseat of her car about six hours ago. This entire day has been a whirlwind while seeming completely unreal. I don’t know how this became my reality but that’s indeed what it is. I take a deep breath as I follow Durant onto the elevator and he then hits the five button for the fifth floor. We both stand there in silence as the questions in my head only come down to one. What’s going to happen to my family?
The elevator dings and the door opens to our floor. William steps off first and walks to the left and I follow close behind until we make it to a lobby where I see Veronica with tear filled eyes. She rushes towards me and wraps her arms around me before squeezing me tight.
Veronica Morrow: ”Oh my God, Aiden, I’m so sorry. I’m so fucking sorry that I hurt our little boy. I-I don’t know what happened.”
As Veronica presses herself against me, I can feel her heart racing. I want to be mad and angry but I can’t. I love her too much. I squeeze her tightly as I wrap my arms around her lower back. I then give Veronica a kiss on the cheek before she rests her chin on my shoulder and I can hear her crying. My eyes catch my father’s eyes, staring into mine as he shakes his head in disappointment. I quickly look away from him as I step back so that Veronica and I can look each other in the eyes and I keep my hands placed on her shoulders.
Aiden Morrow: ”Babe, I just want to get our family and go home. What room is AJ in? Can we see him yet?”
I begin to glance around the area to see any signs of a nurse or doctor that I can talk to before Veronica pulls herself into me and grabs me tight again.
Veronica Morrow: ”They said he’s going to be fine but we need to let him rest for now. Just don’t let me go, please? Don’t ever let me go.”
Veronica buries her face into my chest and continues to cry as my dad finally walks over to us with a disappointed look on his face. He places his hand on Veronica’s shoulder and keeps his eyes on mine while he speaks.
David Morrow: ”Come on, Veronica, you know what you need to do. Turn yourself in and tell the truth about what happened… You need to tell the police and Aiden what you told me.”
Veronica squeezes me harder as she continues to cry into my chest. I glare a hole into my dad as I shake my head.
Aiden Morrow: ”Dad, leave my wife the fuck alone! This has nothing to do with you, this is MY family.
Letting go of Veronica’s shoulder, my dad is now pointing his finger in my face.
David Morrow: ”That’s where you’re wrong, Aiden. This is my family because you’re my family. You’re your mother’s baby boy and I’m not going to let you go to prison and throw your life away for… For her!”
Rage surges throughout my entire body as I begin to see red. I push Veronica aside and level my dad with a left hook to the chin, dropping him to the ground and causing his glasses to go flying. I move towards him until Veronica grabs my arm and holds me back.
Veronica Morrow: ”Aiden! Wait… P-Please… Stop.”
The rage subsides as I turn towards Veronica and look into her tear filled eyes.
Veronica Morrow: ”I was on drugs earlier, Aiden… When I left AJ in the car, I was on…”
I cut her off.
Aiden Morrow: ”Yeah, you took too many pills or whatever. It’s fine, we can fix it… Together, you, me and AJ.”
She looks down and shakes her head before lifting up the sleeve to her long sleeve shirt so that I can see needle marks and my heart drops. Swallowing hard, I respond.
Aiden Morrow: ”You… You’ve been slamming? Veronica… No, no, no… Tell me it’s a lie.”
Veronica sprints off but then runs into the two police officers who questioned me earlier, Officer Bryant and the asshole, overweight white guy. I go to run towards them as if I can do anything but my dad grabs me from behind and holds me in a bearhug practically. The white officer cuffs Veronica while Officer Bryant reads Veronica her rights. They then drag her off and she cries out to me.
Veronica Morrow: ”I’m sorry, Aiden, I love you!
As the officers pull her away out of sight, I drop to my hands and knees and stare at the ground. This doesn’t feel real. How did I never notice this? How the fuck did I let it slip by me? This is my fault, it’s all my fucking fault. I now feel my dad’s hand rub over my shoulder.
David Morrow: ”I’m sorry, son, I had to call in it… For yours and AJ’s sake. I hope you understand why I did this one day.”
I don’t understand any of this… And I don’t know if I ever will.

[Legacy Arena]
[October 9th, 2016]
The scene opens up with Aiden Morrow standing in the middle of an empty ring inside of the Legacy Arena. The arena is dark with a single light being shone down onto Aiden as starts to walk around the ring, going through his thoughts. He finally stops and leans onto the ropes as he looks into the camera.
Aiden Morrow: ”I wasn’t going to cut another promo in a wrestling ring again but this time, I felt like it was appropriate. We’re a day away until I meet Dylan O’Brien in the Legacy main event in this ring that I’m currently standing in. So far, my career hasn’t started the way that I exactly anticipated it to but I’ve kept my head up high and kept doing things the right way and I’ve been rewarded with a shot at the Legacy Championship in two weeks at New Wave. While I’m excited for the opportunity and feel like I’m going to be ready for it, I will not look ahead or look past Dylan O’Brien.”
Aiden pauses and nods his head confidently.
Aiden Morrow: ”Dylan O’Brien, from what I’ve heard from you during your career so far, I’m really questioning why you’re here competing. Is it because you love wrestling? Because you want to be one of the greatest to ever lace his boots up and get inside of the ring? Or do you have different motives and is this simply a means to an end? You see, I wouldn’t be here questioning your heart and desire if it wasn’t you who already did it first. Cletus Walker and Eric Weaver didn’t use these obvious facts to their advantage, I most definitely will.”
“And this isn’t to say that I don’t take Dylan O’Brien seriously in the ring, because I most definitely do. Here’s the thing though, Dylan O’Brien doesn’t take any of US seriously. Go back and watch his last promo if you want to see what I’m talking about. He practically scoffed at the fact that he’s now a professional wrestler. Dylan sees himself as some kind of outsider who doesn’t care about wins or losses, he apparently only cares about fighting. But if that were true, then how come he won by submission two weeks ago? Hmm, maybe it seems like he cares a bit but he just doesn’t want to show that he does care?”
“The most interesting thing that Dylan said was how he had never wrestled a day in his life and he doesn’t care to learn either. So let me ask you this, why did you sign a contract to wrestle then? Oh yeah, so you can keep an eye on the gypsies that are after Kaelan and Oliver. Basically, you’re here to fight in a fight that’s not even your own. The funny part about it is that you’re on the Legacy brand, the developmental brand that will not feature Oliver or Kaelan. Weird, you can’t really keep an eye on the two people you care about from over here in Legacy, can you? If you don’t really give a shit about wrestling, then why are you even here in Legacy when you should be watching over your loved ones over at Mayhem?”
Aiden’s brow furrows as he shrugs his shoulders.
Aiden Morrow: ”Then there was the golden nugget of Dylan claiming how he didn’t know who his opponents were two weeks ago when he fought Eric Weaver and Cletus Walker. You know, I haven’t heard from Dylan yet and I’m wondering if he even knows he’s fighting me, let alone fighting in the main event. I guess since Dylan beat two mid-tier guys, they want to see what he can do against me, the guy who’s been in every single Legacy main event since the second show. That’s right, this is my third in a row, going into New Wave where I will wrestle in a fourth in a row.”
“While I am thankful for the spot that the higher ups have put me in, I’ve also earned this spot through my hard work and attitude. Nothing is handed to me and I’ve earned everything that’s ever come my way. Despite the odd way that my career started, I didn’t let any of that bring me down. I came down to the ring and fought PerZag to a draw over a month ago and that match will go down as one of the best that Legacy has ever seen. I then came out and beat Teo Jakobah after he gained a huge upset victory over a veteran like Alexander Raven. While Alexander slipped up heading into New Wave, I won’t make the same mistake as he did, I won’t be heading into the biggest match of my life with a loss on my record.”
Aiden pauses and nods his head confidently before he walks to the center of the ring.
Aiden Morrow: ”While Dylan is an untrained fighter who thinks he’s going to have his way with whoever steps in the ring with him, I’m an actual wrestler who was trained by world class athletes. Flex Johnson and Blyss Lockhart taught me everything they know, as you all have heard me say before. I didn’t spit in the face of professional wrestling, thinking that I could just walk into a ring with no training and beat anyone who stepped in front of me. No, I trained and I sacrificed so much to get here. I not only do this for me, but I do this for my family, I do it for AJ and his future.”
“While I have something to fight for, what does Dylan O’Brien have? Is there really anything or does he simply like to fight and kick people’s asses? Does his fighting skills help him counter out of a calf crusher, a kimura lock or a lebell lock? Because these are moves that I know, moves that I know how to sync in to where there is absolutely no escape. Don’t believe me? How about you go back and watch my match two weeks ago with Teo Jakobah, a guy who’s ACTUALLY a wrestler. I put him into a lebell lock and you know what happened next? Well, knowing that it’s Dylan O’Brien and that he doesn’t care nor does he pay attention to his surroundings, he probably doesn’t know. So let me remind you Dylan, I made Teo tap out. I didn’t simply pin the man who beat one of the men standing in my way for the Legacy Championship, I made him TAP OUT!”
Aiden kneels down in the middle of the ring and taps his knuckles down in the center of the ring.
Aiden Morrow: ”And I did it right here in the middle of this very ring. If I can take an accomplished veteran like PerZag to the limit and if I can make Teo Jakobah tap out, what do you think I can do to you then, Dylan? While I believe that you’re going to bring a fight, I also believe that you’re going to slip up one way or another and I’m going to take advantage of it. You see, this isn’t a street fight in the streets of Belfast or some shit, this is wrestling. You’re fighting me in my game, in what I’ve been training to do for years. Not only do I now have a professional background but I have an amateur one as well to where I earned a college scholarship with my wrestling abilities.”
“My experience goes back to when I was a young teenager in high school while your experience goes back to getting into drunk bar fights in Ireland. You fight for nothing besides the fight that you’re an angry Irishmen who feels the need to prove some kind of superiority over people. But that’s just who he is with his ‘I don’t give a shit’ attitude. Hell, instead of giving a damn about our match or even mentioning it, he’s too busy getting drunk at the pub tonight with Kaelan. While he goes out and parties, I simply prepare. While there obviously isn’t much tape on Dylan, you can bet your ass that I’ve been studying his match with Cletus and and Eric.”
Aiden walks towards the ropes before rolling out of the ring and then walking towards the camera that’s been recording him.
Aiden Morrow: ”So go ahead, Dylan, make threats about how security need to be kept close to protect me from you. I’ve heard every kind of threat in the book and I’ve fought through things that you could never even imagine. You don’t scare or intimidate me. You’re simply the next guy up who’s standing in my way in a WRESTLING match. So keep on comparing yourself being in the ring to letting a murderer in someone’s home or letting someone set on fire something important, because the only thing that’s on fire going into this match is me.”
“I’m on a hot streak and I’m not going to let you slow me down. This is my last match until I fight for the Legacy Championship and my dreams come true. You can bring whatever ‘fight’ you want to bring but the fact of the matter is, I’m bringing the WRESTLING and that’s why I’m going to beat you. You do what you do best and I’ll DO WHAT I DO BEST!”
“Which is getting into that ring behind me… And wrestling. The only thing that will be burning down tomorrow is the cocky bravado that Dylan has shown during his brief stint here. You’re not a monster like you claim to be, you’re just a guy who talks a big game and tomorrow night, I’m going to show that that’s all you are… Talk!”
Aiden nods at the camera before walking away and the scene cuts out.
