THE FUNDAMENTALS
1.1 - Victory Wrestling is an angle/RP hybrid efed wrestling promotion.
1.2 - Anyone signed to Victory Wrestling is expected to help maintain a drama free environment for all roster members.
1.3 - Offensive, hateful or discriminatory behaviour will not be tolerated in any OOC context.
1.4 - No plagarism. Do not steal other people's material, regardless of the source, to use as your own.
1.5 - If you need a leave of absence, just let us know. We understand that real life happens, but equally we do need to know if you'll be away. Just not showing up will count against you and may see you removed.
1.6 - In all cases, regardless of any other factor(s), the fed head's decision is final.
THE APPLICATION
2.1 - Victory Wrestling is open to handlers of any skill or experience level.
2.2 - Applications are handled via this forum. To apply, first create a new account. Next, head to the contract signing area, grabbing the bio template from the sticky post and pasting that into a new thread.
2.2 - We only accept applications for original characters (OC). They must be your creation and cannot be a celebrity/real wrestler.
2.3 - Roster spaces are limited to 24 active characters.
2.4 - Every handler is allowed up to three competitive characters. Each character must have its own forum account. Staff characters do not count toward this number.
2.5 - Victory Wrestling operates on the basis of one character per pic base, entrance music song, signature and finishing move name. It is your job to check the taken list prior to submitting your application. (Taken lists)
2.6 - When picking your picture base, please consider that it must be of someone who has suitable images, with some ideally of at least 800x600px or so.
2.7 - All chosen pic based must be of real people. No cartoons, CGI, symbols, etc.
THE SHOWS
3.1 - Victory Wrestling's shows take place every two weeks, recorded on Saturdays and broadcast on Monday evenings via the fictional Webstream only service.
3.2 - Our shows will be in an episodic format, and simply numbered as Episode 001, Episode 002, etc.
3.3 - Our matches will be a short "recap" match, rather than a fully detailed style.
3.4 - We allow for mixed gender matches. We acknowledge arguments against it for realism's sake, but the divide is too restrictive creatively.
3.5 - We are willing to accommodate pre-determined/"angled" match finishes, so long as all involved competitors are in agreement.
3.6 - Our shows have two deadlines. One is 48 hours from the show, for all promos. The second is 24 hours from the show, for all segments.
THE ROLEPLAYING
4.1 - In Victory Wrestling, our regular matches are "angled", which is to say the winners are determined, in advance, by one or more of the following three methods:
4.2 - For "important" matches (e.g. title matches, super show matches), we operate a regular graded system, whereby your match roleplay is scored (see roleplay judging, below), and those grades then used to decide match winners.
4.3 - Regardless of whether angled or graded, we expect one match roleplay per show.
4.4 - Graded roleplays must include at least one on camera scene. Roleplays for angled matches may include on camera, but it isn't mandatory.
4.5 - Unless stated otherwise, match roleplays are limited to one per character, per show, and do not have a word limit.
4.6 - Characters who fail to roleplay ("no show") will be given a strike. Three strikes within a five show period will see the character removed from the roster. Repeat offenders may be permanently banned and we may elect to bar known flakes from rejoining.
4.7 - You may use any Victory Wrestling staff NPC (barring Lizzie Jones or Vortex) without prior permission. Lizzie and Vortex are both my characters, and I portray them both on Twitter. I will allow their use, but request you ask permission first so I have a handle on where they are and what they are doing, etc.
4.8 - Match promo roleplays are considered as taking place concurrently, and thus cannot be quoted in any promo taking place on the same week (as it is unfair under a one RP per show system to allow no reaction to being quoted). Off-camera portions of any promo or CD piece cannot be quoted in any roleplay. Anyone who violates this rule will be docked points from their overall grade.
THE JUDGEMENT
5.1 - Competitive roleplays in Victory Wrestling are judged against a number of criteria:
Content - scored out of 60
Argument (25): How well does your piece take (provable) facts about your opponent and use them to further your argument for why you'll win?
Entertainment (25): How engaging was your piece overall? Remember, realism is an important part of making a roleplay entertaining and believable.
Creativity (10): How creative was your piece? Essentially, was it something mundane and commonly seen, or a premise that's less often see, or even unique?
Storyline Continuation - scored out of 20
Continuity (10): Does your roleplay acknowledge previous matches or events within the promotion? Does it continue the stories laid out in previous shows?
Relevance (10): How relevant is the piece to the character's motivations going into the match?
Technical - scored out of 20
Layout (10): How well is your roleplay laid out? Are scenes clearly defined and is it easy to understand what is going on in each one?
Spelling/grammar (10): No mistakes earns top marks here, with the score lowered for any mistakes found.
5.2 - The character with the highest score of those involved in a given match wins the encounter.
5.3 - In the case of a tie, a second opinion will be sought. If still tied then the match will be a draw.
5.4 - Where matches are angled, we will aim for a roughly 50/50 w/l record. We're not angled to help bury anyone. Obviously a dead 50/50 is most likely not possible, but we will aim toward about that mark.
5.5 - Disagreements about match results are probably inevitable. Should you disagree about the result of your match, please contact management in private. Airing your grievances in public isn't acceptable.
5.6 - Any staff member who also handles a character on the roster will not be allowed to take part in the writing or judgement of their own match.
THE SEGMENTS
6.1 - The segments for Victory Wrestling shows are primarily written by the handlers, with some room for management written segments too.
6.2 - Segments have no word limit, but should be properly formatted. Our format is basic, speech marks for dialogue, speaker and speech emboldened, with colours left as optional.
