Hey all! So I've been mulling this over for a few days, based off of results, attendance and all of the suchlike. The staff and I had a good discussion about this, but before I set anything in stone I think it's only fair to put this out for everyone to discuss.
Okay, so for me, personally, efedding is about telling a good story. As a fed head, my ambition is to create memorable feuds and matches. A huge goal for me is to give everyone opportunities to shine, chances to excel and, more than anything else, enjoy themselves.
With that in mind, and after talking to my staff, I have decided that I believe Victory should, going forward, transition toward being a hybrid angle/RP fed. I'm bringing this forward now, before we go on as we are, because I feel unsatisfied with things thus far.
Let me explain exactly what I have in mind.
The Basics
Under this change, regular "TV" matches would be angled entirely. The winner would be picked from one of either:
Why? I feel it's the best way for us to design stories going forward. We can plan results ahead of time and the focus shifts from crafting the perfect graded RP toward segments and promos, which I feel helps Victory overall. We'd still expect RPs, of course, and the push you receive would be based around your participation in terms of RPs and segments - which I already record who sends what in, so that's nothing different for me.
I would still never want to reward people who make no effort, so don't fret over me making you lose to a guy who's not done anything for two shows or anything. I do accept it may mean the "better" RPer may lose from time to time, but that's the nature of things. I think we gain more than we lose, though.
The hybrid aspect comes into it at super show, title and/or "important" matches (such as contender matches, for instance). For these we would maintain the grading system, exactly the same as we had been doing. This means titles will still change hands competitively. Feud ending matches as super shows will be decided competitively, so on and so forth.
Conclusion
So yeah, there we have it. It's not really that drastic of a change, but I feel we gain a lot from doing so. I understand angled matches aren't everyone's cup of tea, but equally I believe that keeping super show, title matches and any other match that it's felt should be competed to a graded RP system means those of you who write to win titles and the such will still be given a chance to do so. It also protects those of you who are perhaps not as strong a writer, giving everyone a shot at wins here with us.
Anyway. Let me know what you think. I'm always prepared to listen to feedback and none of this is set in stone until you've had a chance to discuss it with us.
Regardless of feedback, I won't change anything before Episode 003, as that's too short of a notice.

- Consensus between the opponents
- Staff consensus
- Fed head decision
